Not easy, pulling off a chalet for SO many people!

Dinner was great! The food there was good too! Lucky they cater to vegetarians as well, and i had pasta for dinner as well as next day's lunch.. hehe! After dinner the 3 of us sat there and talked about all sorts of things! We were the last ones still sitting there after they collected away our plates. So we decided to go to the jacuzzi to continue our chat as planned =D

today doesnt feel like New Years Eve AT ALL! so oddd.. but still managed to meet up with Pinxiu, Yihui n Fangjie for lunch at marina =D Breeks cafe is my new favourite place to go eat..coz the menu has so many big big pictures! haha!
my cousins and my aunt & uncle came over to my house after we all went out to watch Yes Man! We had our very FIRST lao yu sheng thing of the year(supposed to be for 2009) too. Anw, i thought Yes Man was a v inspiring show in a funny way.. its lyk a comedy with an underlying message. haha.. imagine if i were to say Yes to everything! LOL absolute madness. But i think its a good attitude to have in life, to be open to new things and DARE TO TRY! its like a reminder to all the people out there not to get too caught up with work or their mundane lives, to remember to get out there and LIVE, to have FUN. =D good fundamentals for making all your new year resolutions! (a bit like The Bucket List, no?)
okie evryone! HAPPY NEW YEAR! may you all be blessed with a fulfilling year ahead, cheers to the many new experiences you'll have and lastly, LOVE to everyone out there! happy 2009!

riders lodge
in the mood for blogging now.. LOL time to write about Riders Lodge!
Nikki, Eunice & I went to rider's lodge in m'sia to take this beginner's horse riding course over 2 days.. Eunice drove us there! hehe.. she's so good with m'sia roads la! so we didn't get lost or anything =D
when we first arrived, we were so excited coz the place looked really pretty! the old english country style lodge, and we saw the horses at the stables, and nice dining area, xmas tree was alrdy set up too!
we checked in and were very pleased with our rooms as well, as compared to the shock we got at pulau aur, we were more than elated! there was even nickelodeon on tv! spongebob entertained us quite a lot!
and we started lessons! first was grooming & learning how to saddle the horses.. a bit scary at first but after got used to the horses, was quite nice! They didn't really let us do that much for the saddling though.
Nikki with Impian
We then learned how to control the horses, walking around, how to turn, stop, that kind of thing. Time passed real quick that's for sure! Before we knew it, it was already evening, and time to end the day for dinner! We had about 4 hrs of lessons on the horse today and had just started learning to trot, which i found to be a much difficult than walking..couldn't get the right rhythm yet. And its a little more tiring too! But i enjoyed it very much as well. That was the fun part! Walking around was starting to get boring you see.
Me & Mathilda- the sweetest horse there!
Mathilda had a clover on her ass =D schweet!
LOL that was real funny coz it was already night time so the water was COLD! and since it was out in the open, with plants at both sides, there was also the constant croaking of frogs! omg! we were so afraid the frogs would jump in! one froggy ALMOST did okie! no joke!
The ambiance of the place was very good and made us feel very relaxed, chill, felt like a good place to go for short de-stressing holidays! The next morning was really fast. Just went through trotting again before we went out for our jungle trail ride =D
Thats me riding on Jazz-Malone
Emo shot of Eunice & Jazz Malone
there was however, this annoying woman there! she's some big shot in rider's lodge la. she was talking to the other group of people learning there, she openly said that they "are riding much better than the other group(US) there." and she said it right in front of us! OMG! such a bitch! just because THAT group seemed to be spending a lot of money there on riding gears, and we found out later that they were there for 10 days, 4 lessons a day (SO RICH!).. well, no wonder she wants to suck up to them! Eeew! but the 3 of us totally didn't like her after we heard her nasty comment!
We didn't manage to learn canter! i'm still a little disappointed over that. The programme was too ambitious! not realistic to pack so many things into 2 days. we couldn't finish it. But still, we graduated frm beginners course nonetheless. and we were already planning to go back next end of yr =D i hope that happens! the course was more of a brief introductory rather than an in depth, detailed course.
we got our certs and a pretty golden horseshoe as souvenirs!
the horseshoes are real ones painted over coz the horses have to change them every 6 wks! what a good idea, recycling them as gifts! the woman in red is our instructor, Catherine =)
see the little jacuzzi in the background?
at the end of the trip, i finally agree with what everone was saying. do NOT ride with jeans. it hurts down there lor! WTH! stupid zip. that was the most unpleasant part of it.. LOL! other than that, i had the most awesome time on the road with my mount pleasant kakis! =D
happy riders we are =)

having one of the worst pimple breakouts ever.. must be the dusty & dry egypt air.. =(
nyway, met up with ex-VJC classmates today to watch wild child at leisure park cinema.. LOL we were the ONLY ones watching the film there! haha but its abit inconvenient to get there for most people.. hehe =X
Happy Birthday to Verna tomorrow!
after that went over to underwater world to return my uniform(long overdued) and got my puny paycheck of $50 from JULY(yes, also long overdue) .. you see, i thought they did not even issue me my paycheck cause i quit! LOL so nobody asked me to return my uniform/collect my cheque so i just didn't do anything..wahaha! thank goodness Azni told me all this! aiyo! so nice to meet up with her again! now UWS seems quite nice again.. hehe but i STILL dun think i'd like to work there la =X i wouldn't be able to stay there for long..i'm really against their policy of having things like the touch pool and the ray pool.
I really pity the fish and rays there. I don't think that these creatures are meant to be touched and handled by the guests, and espescially when most of these guests are incapable of handling these creatures properly and gently. I feel that the welfare of the fishes aren't adequately addressed and yea, i couldn't stand working there pretending that i felt alright with that.
The only good thing were my colleagues though! Who made time pass faster at work and not such a bore! =D
mmm.. packing up my stuff now for my 2 day horseriding trip tmr in M'sia! =D so excited! FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY i get to go! shucks. but i can't seem to find my camera anywhere! dang!
cya in 2 days time!

still jet-lagging i think.. sleepy n lazy..
met up with joanne verna n huiting the other day at clarke quays =D we're gonna celebrate nana's bday nxt wed! but the sucky thing about singapore now is the WET WET WEATHER! i dun lyk rain! coz i dun lyk carrying an umbrella nor do i like getting drenched.
haha! this morning went to TM to pass aunty angela some things from egypt n also to shop! (okie shopping wasn't my intention but since im there, might as well right!) so i was present hunting.. i bought my mum's xmas present =D n also junwei's & jinyi's-(tuition kids).. their parents were suggesting a get together sometime soon tgt with me n xinni! i kinda miss them u knw! so adorable.
hmm oh yes. n i bought this photo frame thing for our egypt photos, can put 10 photos, its sort of like a rotating stand(think-ferris wheel) which costed 60 bucks n made me look lyk an AUNTY lugging 1 big plastic bag in 1 hand & another big Isetan bag in the other..LOL lucky i never bump into anyone i know! XD
shucks. i never expected id ever say this but im turning into a shopaholic! everytime i go out, i will w/o fial buy something(s) for myself. today was no exception.. i cant help it haha .. i think just spending money makes me happy.. buying xmas presents for ppl make me v excited n happy too!! haha oh! today i got myself some rainbow coloured toe-socks! =DD n a couple more iron-on patches for me to play around with.. im thinking which clothes to piak them onto now.. hehe. luckily im using my own money, else my parents will probably wanna strangle me..but jobless now, my money supply is v steadily declining! then again, i just need enough to last me till Feb. LOL!
ohh! after shopping, spent the lazy afternoon at home arranging photos n compiling photo album.. my mum bought from prints! =D i like! so can design n arrange it any way i like.. sam n my mum helped out too!
now im left with Sam Alf & Tzeyuan's present to buy .. wahaha coz i forced ty to do xmas exchange w me LOL well, everyone likes presents right!! at least, i do! i like to GIVE & RECEIVE! hopefully will finish up making the photo album tmr(HOPE).. its a total of like.. 300 PLUS photos! haha quite crazy
having steamboat over at my house tmr! my cousins n some aunts are coming over =D i SHOULD start exercising too.. doc says i can start trying to run now, finally! but must wear the insoles..which i dont like..nvm..start next wk la.
LOL still not adjusted back to singapore time.. or mayb its just myself resisting sleep. im gonna read a bit of stephanie meyer's 4th book b4 i snooze off (nt v soon coz i always cant stop reading her book once i start)
which reminds me, I CANT WAIT FOR 18DEC! i sooo wanna watch twillight. only stephanie meyer can make "Edward" into such a sexaye name(in my mind edward always made me think-dork), n "Bella" such a beautiful name(i used to think bella-frog). LOL. but i think its sth to do with the golden eye factor & the fact that hes a vampire. haha its modern day- fantasy version of romeo n juliet with more action & twists. too bad she only wrote 4 books. =( i sort of don't wanna finish reading their story!
At the Colossi of Memnon-which is actually stolen from Amenhotep's

finally back frm egypt! i really miss the nice cool weather there! the trip was awesome! been sorting through photos for the last couple of hours.. hundreds of them! hmm i dont know where to start.. post as many as i can here - just the highlights =D

on board the cruise, we were most impressed by our housekeepers' creativity! they folded our clean towels into cute creatures/things, different each day. its the first time ive seen such a thing, i think all hotels should do this! haha totally made my day =D

one of the MOST fun things we did was the canyon trekking n the 4wheel drive through the rocky-sandy desert.. the whole group had so much fun n made so much noise.. its really lucky for us this time that our group members all got along so well with each other! n yea.. the "weird people" turned out to be super entertaining n funny! they're all very easy to get along with n im so amazed with them- making friends with strangers wherever they go(serious!)
bought LOTS of things too.. the egyptians had their own "perfume" which is actually the base oils for most international perfumes, without the alcohol- so its kinda like essential oil texture.. supposed to be able to last longer coz it doesnt evaporate that fast.. i bought my Tommy Girl scent in that form there =) much cheaper than airport! hehe!! their perfume bottles r such gems as well! then, i bought a couple of scarfs, some figurines n pendents n also a personalised ring- with my name written on itin heiroglypic text! =D
our family made polo tees with heiroglyphic embroidery as well + we bought a few boxes of the dates with the almonds in the middle (yumyum)
im so so fortunate that i didn't fall ill this trip! it was quite bad for our entire group.. about half of the people had stomach problems, V+, D+, throughout the whole trip. i think its jus not used to the food there la.. it wasn't fantastic, but i still had such a huge apetite LOL!
the MOST favourite part is climbing mount sinai! started climbing at about 1.45AM n we reached the top just at the right time to catch the sunrise.. my first sunrise in fact! sooooo beautiful!! it was FREEZING COLD on the top! but on the way down, it started to get so very HOT! omg! haha n coz we climbed up in the DARK, we really didn't know it was so high! haha only on our way down did we realise, hey! we actually climbed up such a long way! by the time we got to the bottom, it was already 8.45AM.. we took lyk 7hours! but we had resting stops along the way as well of course. the route we took was relatively easy, clear cut BUT rocky trail to about 3/4 n then stone steps all the way to the top..

MY FAVOURITE THINGS
Rise and shine my dear, my darling,
Sunshine through the window, birds are calling.
Awake from your sweet, sweet slumber,
Your day awaits, with many new wonders.
Cactus plants on your windowsill come to life,
Growing with vigour, they greet you with feist.
Fluffy white clouds sail across the sky,
Look up, look out, as love comes cruising by.
Wear a bright coloured top and your favourite scent,
Matched with a smile and your ribbon headband.
Carry with you some laughter in your heart,
For a little joy would bring you some luck.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air,
Tempting, tantalising, drawing you close unaware.
A soy cappuccino in your left, an old book in your right,
Spend some time with yourself; blow some bubbles, fly a kite.
Sounds of the sea come together like a melody,
Notes played on the piano, a perfect rhapsody.
Dreamy weekend filled with my favourite things,
And peace fluttering by on white dove wings.
Rise and shine my dear, my darling,

MOON
A pearl glowing luminous in the dark.
Beautiful. Tragically lonesome.
Tear drops glistening as i looked up.
Tragic. Lonesomely beautiful.
Disco ball spinning amidst parties of stars,
Glitzy, smoky, mysteriously enchanting.
Spotlight glaring down on an empty stage,
Naked, forsaken, enchantingly mysterious.
Outside my window, the night sky loomed.
Inky, somber, ominous, enigmatic.
DARK.
Dark against the pearl, my tears, disco ball, spotlight.
As i lust after the pearl so coveted,
I brush away tears undiscovered.
Drifting along under flashes of the disco ball,
I'm shrinking away from the spotlight where i used to belong.
My moon, so bright, perfectly round tonight.
My heart, heavy. Filled with thoughts of you inside.
Your heart, so light, perfectly sound this night.
Your moon, my moon. Our moon.
Your heart, is now her heart. Sweethearts.
My moon. I'll moon. Over you tonight.
my little tribute to the full moon tonight n the mysteries it brings. for what power the quiet night has, that tugs on heart strings, stirring emotions and letting loose inspiration.
MISSION P.C.
“Sssh!” The coast is clear! Sam and Joyce, heartbeats thumping with excitement, miniature drums beating furiously against their chests, hid behind the door of the room. Yet in the background of the heavy rhythm of the drums, there was the hint of laughter, a giggle perhaps, faintly chiming in the midst of all the commotion.
They were on an important mission. Top secret and highly classified. Stealth, speed and skill were the key factors. They had to initiate the machine- technical expertise was called for. Grasped tightly in their fists were the precious artefacts, which they could not afford to forget.
The matriarch had left the premises about 5 minutes ago and the girls had got into their positions without much haste. Silence filled the room, with the exception of that incessant drumbeat and the imperceptible flitter of glee. The curtains were left undrawn, blocking out much of the sunshine from the outside world. In the dim-lit room, the musky smell wafted by each time they inhaled. It smelt of old lacquered wood mixed with that distinctive smell of fresh paper, dappled with a pinch of a metallic scent- ink, they gathered. The machine sat solemnly at the other corner of the room, enticing, anticipating the girls’ next move. So calm and composed it seemed, patiently waiting for something to happen, like the calm before the storm.
The time for action had come. There was to be no delay. They had to get to the machine, activate it, fulfill their task and retreat, leaving no clues behind of their presence, all before the matriarch returned.
“On the count of 3! 1… 2… 3!” Joyce scurried over to the corner of the room, taking cover behind the machine as Sam followed behind, light-footed and nimble, after shutting the door behind her quietly and deftly turning the lock. Nobody had seen them. Good. For how dangerous and risky this was, with the door being slightly translucent. They had succeeded in securing the room. Now all they had to do was to complete their task and retreat.
The drumbeats faded slowly. Having done this before, Joyce took the lead, guiding and instructing Sam as she went along, activating the machine. With the push of a few specific buttons, a green light blinked on and the machine whirred to life. A cheeky grin smirked on their faces, still balled up in their fists were the artefacts. The giggle in the background began to grow louder, their hearts lighter.
Joyce gingerly lifted the lid of the machine, delicately placing the artefact from her hand onto the glistening panel, smoothening it out. She had to make sure the artefact was placed exactly within the specified margins or the plan would not work. After double-checking that everything was in place, she shut the lid with silent confidence. Sam stood close, observing carefully and learning the procedure for it would be her turn next. With a steady finality to it all, Joyce then pushed the big green button. The machine beeped and started to move, scanning the artefact across from one end to the other. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, it began to chug. Slowly at first, then picking up speed, its rhythm most peculiarly irregular yet hypnotic.
The giggle rose up like a bubble and broke as Joyce gave a little quip. It looks like her task was almost completed! Just as abruptly as it started, the chugging stopped and the machine gave out a loud beep, announcing that its job had been done. Breaking into a smile, lips curling upwards to reveal her teeth, Joyce reached out for the document that slid out onto the tray. As she laid her eyes on the result of her meticulous planning, rumbling laughter erupted from her little body as she held it up proudly with both hands, displaying it for Sam to see. Sam doubled over, clutching her stomach. She could hardly believe what she saw. It was like magic! Sam could not help but join in the throes of uncontrollable laughter and celebration of her sister’s success.
There, imprinted on the stark white sheet of paper, was the unmistakable, most humouring thing of all- the perfect print of her favourite snoopy panties!
Joyce and Sam laughed until tears began to form in their eyes as they repeated the process, Sam enthusiastically trying out her first shot at this.
Then came the screeching of the main gate and the grumble of the matriarch vehicle. She had returned. Each holding about 2-3 copies of warm and crisply printed paper in their hands, Sam and Joyce quickly snatched up their prized possessions and “certificates of achievements”, flipped the power switch to OFF, putting the machine back to sleep and dashed out of the study room. In a flash of motions, they quickly stashed the evidence in the secret compartment in their closet and rushed to the living room, plopped themselves on the sofa, turned on the television and acted like they had been watching Powerpuff Girls this whole time.
Still giggling intermittently at the outrageous adventure they just had, it was perfect timing as the main door clicked open and in stepped the matriarch. “Hi, Mom!” Both girls called in that coyly sweet voice of theirs, plastered on their faces were the “ innocent-puppy-eyed” expressions.
With a nod of approval, their mummy dearest carried her bag of groceries to the kitchen and Sam and Joyce let loose their infectious but final bout of laughter. With a high-five to seal the deal, there was nothing more exhilarating and satisfying than a task well planned and executed. What more was there to say, other than- MISSION PANTY-COPY ACCOMPLISHED!
