did u all turn off ur lights?? i did okie!
LOL
im so dreading next wk..
i shall not bitch abt my horrible assignments/group... i need to simmer down........ haha!
must SMILE!! ok im nt making much sense.. nvm! incoherrence.. looking fwd to BONES on tv tmr at 9.30PM
i dun feel lyk slping tonight.. i dun feel lyk gg training tmr morning.. i will slack during training tmr... coz i feel lyk ive done alot of work this week alrdy..
n it will b nice n comforting if i manage to survive sch next wk..
it has been a BUSY BUSY wk! but nxt wks gonna get busier! anyway, if u get queasy/don't wanna see any pictures of dead bodies/dissected specimens, DON'T SCROLL DOWN
finally gotten my millers anatomy textbook today from amazon.. geez! its HEAVY!! if i every want dumbells to train my arms, i can just use my millers LOL
anyway, we had to take our Q fever vaccination on tuesday.. i had to get Q-fever AND tetanus vaccinations... both on the same arm... oh man! Q fever vax is quite horrid! made me drowsy, headache n mild fever(i think!) the next day.. n the injection site now is red n swollen! Sore arm too!
okie theres my fat arm with the 2 horrible sores from Q fever n Tetanus vax =( scary right!!
we also had our very first anatomy prac class this week! we didnt have to dissect anything yet, but we had to observe n identify the various muscles in dissected specimens displayed for us.. there were SOO many!! n it was v v confusing n mind warping.. haha coz i think we are supposed to self-learn the names/location of al the muscles (MILLERS) bef the prac or sth.. but thats also quite impossible.. n daunting! haha.. but i t didnt turn out as scary as i thought! the specimens were all dissected so nicely! n there wasnt too much of a bad smell.. only 1 or 2 specimens smelt a BIT.. i shall put up one pic to show u a piece of our prac class =D
the muscle names r terribly hard to rmb! LOL they all sound the same i tell u!
anyway, the dogs they use are all injured/retired greyhound racing dogs that have been put to slp.. so yea.. i guess that although they died without a good reason (coz i think its downright mean n unnecessary to put down a racing animal just coz it cant race well/is old..even worse.. if injured--TREAT! not put down!) but yea, since cant stop them from putting down at least, they will help us become better vets =D must thank the greyhounds. but i really pity them =( poor things!
today was a good day(finally) after the shitty week.. we went to taronga zoo! had to take a ferry there from circular quay.. the zoo is pretty awesome! many times better than singapore's i think.. the enclosures here are large n spacious and clean, the animals look really much happier here than in the zoos in singapore. they are able to demonstrate their normal behaviours and are active, not like in singapore where the animals are always bored, pacing or sleeping. the buildings in the zoo are nice too! =D
they also have a great variety of animals.. the aussie animals are very unique! the bilbies, platapus, wombats, etc.

the best part was feeding the giraffes! i love the giraffes! <3 my favourites!! haha we spent almost the whole day at the zoo, from 10am till 4pm! what a day! got home feeling so tired! cooked dinner n ate hot cross buns for supper.. now wtching tv- Just My Luck.. theres many great movies on tv today! happy happy day! will chiong my work tmr =( .. for now, SMILE!

then went out w elisa for lunch which was good.. n we were walking around window shoppping.. n everything was FINE until we went into supre.. when we were just about to leave, elisa noticed my bag was open.. n i was lyk AH?! why is it open?? then i took a look n holy schmoly.. my wallet was GONE!! ARGH... b4 we entered the store, my bag was nicely zipped n all.. sigh! i didnt even feel anyone taking my wallet!! NO MORE BACKPACKS FOR ME FROM NOW ON! =(
i paniced coz ALL my important cards were in there!! Credit card, my Room key/U-card, my Student card, my laundry card, GYM card, Access card, travel insurance card, OSHC worldcare student medical insurance card, veg soc card, $$.. ALL GONE!! JUST LIKE THAT!

TWO buses... n they just drove off right in front of me!! OMG! even the buses refuse to cooperate..
but i managed to get a temporary card from SUV so i can access my room.. gotta get a replacement on monday when the person in charge is working.. my credit card too... has to wait till monday when the main office/branch is open.. n ALL the other admin stuff i have to do.. replacing ALL the cards.. such such such a hassle
n yea, i texted my mum to tell her abt it..she tried to call me on my mobile n guess what... my mobile phone's SPOILT too!! i can't answer any calls nor make any calls!! Can't hear a thing! luckily still can SMS.. but omg! everything is going against me today..
then after i got home n was done calming myself down n talking to my mum about it, emailing the insurance ppl coz i didnt know what else to do, making a few calls, etc, i had to go out to buy dinner AND bus ticket to use tmr morning when i go for wushu.. i was just about to get up n leave my room when it started to rain heavily.. i was SPEECHLESS... the whole afternoon was SO HOT!! n the sky turned grey n gloomy in 15 min, RAINED just as i was gona go out!!
argh! now i have to get a new wallet! n a new bag! no more backpack for me! =( all my bags r backpacks/slingbags.. i realised- NOT SAFE. i need a gym bag then i will kiap under my arm tight tight, NOBODY GONA BE ABLE TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM ME AGAIN! =D
now its raining heavily again outside... what a day............. it had better be my MOST UNLUCKY DAY for the 5 yrs im here...
school is getting busy!! but im glad we still have Friday off this week!! was staying up til abt 2AM last night to finish some cell bio assignment -.-"
anyway, this morn went for a short run with nanako! my gd running partner XD
my alarm didnt ring so i overslept! good thing i got woken up my the sms message tone! phew! if not she would have been waiting till god knows when!
then went to watch "he's just not that into you" with abby n nicholas! its quite worth it leh! coz abby got some movie vouchers (print from the website) so its only $8 ! mayb even cheaper than singapore HAHA! its valid till 25th march so mayb next wk we can go watch another movie!! confessions of a shopaholic maybe? hmmm im waiting for Angels n Demons to start showing... in may.. will surely go watch that one!!
the movie was so funny! n quite true too hahaha now we know whats gg on in guy's minds hur! on another note, OMG! theres this very very very irritating n annoying guy from wushu.. im so appalled! haha ytd on msn he was annoying me lots.. n i was mostly ignoring him but he just kept on typing n typing n typing!! ask many stupid qns..tried to ask me out..n after a while of me ignoring him, he started to "advertise" himself!! like saying, he's a nice guy, honest, caring, bla bla bla etc. OMFG la... hahahaha hilarious n leaving me speechless.. hahahaha i decided to block him XD give me some peace!!
meeting up w elisa for lunch tmr coz i havent seen her this entire week yet! haha n then on sunday meeting up with leonard n matt tgt w abby n nick to go to taronga zoo!! =D thats the one thing to lok fwd to i guess! right now... i think ive got to study =( sigh n finish up my tutorials... etc..
shall put up all my awesome awesome photos from last night's mardi gras parade.. was def the best night ever since i arrived here!! =D

today no school! coz labs n pracs havent started yet =D must treasure these 2 weeks! next friday i will have the day off too! wk 3 onwards everything will be starting to get busy!
so today i met up with Ewan n we went to Manly! awesome beach day.. sun tanned..listened to the waves, fell asleep under the sun.. totally CHILL! so so relaxing n therapeutic! took a ferry there from circular quay =D

then we had lunch at this burger place- the burger was HUGE! like 1.5times the size of carl's junior! but was DEEELICIOUS! i cant believe i finished it all

anyway, Manly is quite a nice place! show you some MORE pictures i took..

then we proceeded to Paddington, along Oxford Street where Ewan showed me this very cool bakery/pastry shop with LOTS of pretty n tempting cookies/pies/cake..and most of the shops along the road were alrdy decorated in rainbow colours for tmr's Mardi Gras Parade! hehe..i think its gonna be a super big event! (bubbling with excitement now-hope we get a good spot to watch e parade tmr!)
let me see.. then we went to Glebe for coffee at a chocolate shop-San Churros.. she had some spicy hot chocolate(so thick n spicy n OMG! sinfully yummy!) n i had coffee =D

1st week of school SO FAR has been............................... indescribable.
in short:
timetable has to be manually compiled as it is different every week
notes are either all over the place or non-existent depending on subject, which is rly annoying
i need to get a printer, like NOW. desperately by the end of this wk. coz we hav to print our own lec. notes =(
teaching not very good.. making things very complicated
luckily my mum's sending my all my secret A-level Chem "mi ji" + my 烂Bio textbook..since 读书破万卷,下比如有神, hopefully that bio textbook of my can continue to help mi out n let me pass cell bio!
workload is tough! many things to read up on
im very disorganised and disorientated now and my brain is rusty
Q-fever n tetanus vaccine in 2 weeks time! =(
other than that, its awesome.. the weathers nice and cool.. but getting colder(which i dread) .. its quite nice trying to cook my own meals though they often end up quite shitty.. walking around is relaxing(when not going to classes).. skype n msn n facebook r keeping me sane, daily cuppa coffee n one serving of fruits a day to keep me happy, thank goodnes i brought my coloured markers! and...... yea! its been great =D

shall put up all my awesome awesome photos from last night's mardi gras parade.. was def the best night ever since i arrived here!! =D
MANY AWESOME PHOTOS FROM MARDI GRAS PARADE!!! what an awesome awesome night!! its tons better than the chingay parade! HAHA
we went there to get a good spot REALLLY early.. we were alrdy standing there at 4pm and waited all the way till 7.45 pm when the parade started! amazing..but we were right up front at the 2nd row =DD
and we happened to walk past/stumble upon the "backstage" area, one of the streets where the parade people/dancers/performers were gathering, getting ready n rehearsing before the parade started so we managed to get many amazing, beautiful photos with them!! they're REALLY FRIENDLY!! omg..i had so much fun last night hahaha
we left at 9 plus before the parade finished, n walked allll the way back form oxford street(city) back to our home!! before that we stopped by broadway for a late dinner/supper haha yea! but it was so... WOW.. certainly one thing i will remember about this place =D
im determined to come watch e parade again next yr! 27 Feb! hahaha but next yr we will b on the right side of the parade! this yr we were at the opposite side.. the road had a divider in btw, and we were on the side further away.. but still, good view! n our side was near the "backstage" place we yea! thats definitely a plus point! haha coz once the parade starts, its hard to get any nice photos at all.. dark n noisy n everyones moving.. yea!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE the rainbow flags!

MY FAVOURITE THINGS
Rise and shine my dear, my darling,
Sunshine through the window, birds are calling.
Awake from your sweet, sweet slumber,
Your day awaits, with many new wonders.
Cactus plants on your windowsill come to life,
Growing with vigour, they greet you with feist.
Fluffy white clouds sail across the sky,
Look up, look out, as love comes cruising by.
Wear a bright coloured top and your favourite scent,
Matched with a smile and your ribbon headband.
Carry with you some laughter in your heart,
For a little joy would bring you some luck.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafts through the air,
Tempting, tantalising, drawing you close unaware.
A soy cappuccino in your left, an old book in your right,
Spend some time with yourself; blow some bubbles, fly a kite.
Sounds of the sea come together like a melody,
Notes played on the piano, a perfect rhapsody.
Dreamy weekend filled with my favourite things,
And peace fluttering by on white dove wings.
Rise and shine my dear, my darling,
Sunshine through the window, birds are calling.
Awake from your sweet, sweet slumber,

MOON
A pearl glowing luminous in the dark.
Beautiful. Tragically lonesome.
Tear drops glistening as i looked up.
Tragic. Lonesomely beautiful.
Disco ball spinning amidst parties of stars,
Glitzy, smoky, mysteriously enchanting.
Spotlight glaring down on an empty stage,
Naked, forsaken, enchantingly mysterious.
Outside my window, the night sky loomed.
Inky, somber, ominous, enigmatic.
DARK.
Dark against the pearl, my tears, disco ball, spotlight.
As i lust after the pearl so coveted,
I brush away tears undiscovered.
Drifting along under flashes of the disco ball,
I'm shrinking away from the spotlight where i used to belong.
My moon, so bright, perfectly round tonight.
My heart, heavy. Filled with thoughts of you inside.
Your heart, so light, perfectly sound this night.
Your moon, my moon. Our moon.
Your heart, is now her heart. Sweethearts.
My moon. I'll moon. Over you tonight.
my little tribute to the full moon tonight n the mysteries it brings. for what power the quiet night has, that tugs on heart strings, stirring emotions and letting loose inspiration.
MISSION P.C.
“Sssh!” The coast is clear! Sam and Joyce, heartbeats thumping with excitement, miniature drums beating furiously against their chests, hid behind the door of the room. Yet in the background of the heavy rhythm of the drums, there was the hint of laughter, a giggle perhaps, faintly chiming in the midst of all the commotion.
They were on an important mission. Top secret and highly classified. Stealth, speed and skill were the key factors. They had to initiate the machine- technical expertise was called for. Grasped tightly in their fists were the precious artefacts, which they could not afford to forget.
The matriarch had left the premises about 5 minutes ago and the girls had got into their positions without much haste. Silence filled the room, with the exception of that incessant drumbeat and the imperceptible flitter of glee. The curtains were left undrawn, blocking out much of the sunshine from the outside world. In the dim-lit room, the musky smell wafted by each time they inhaled. It smelt of old lacquered wood mixed with that distinctive smell of fresh paper, dappled with a pinch of a metallic scent- ink, they gathered. The machine sat solemnly at the other corner of the room, enticing, anticipating the girls’ next move. So calm and composed it seemed, patiently waiting for something to happen, like the calm before the storm.
The time for action had come. There was to be no delay. They had to get to the machine, activate it, fulfill their task and retreat, leaving no clues behind of their presence, all before the matriarch returned.
“On the count of 3! 1… 2… 3!” Joyce scurried over to the corner of the room, taking cover behind the machine as Sam followed behind, light-footed and nimble, after shutting the door behind her quietly and deftly turning the lock. Nobody had seen them. Good. For how dangerous and risky this was, with the door being slightly translucent. They had succeeded in securing the room. Now all they had to do was to complete their task and retreat.
The drumbeats faded slowly. Having done this before, Joyce took the lead, guiding and instructing Sam as she went along, activating the machine. With the push of a few specific buttons, a green light blinked on and the machine whirred to life. A cheeky grin smirked on their faces, still balled up in their fists were the artefacts. The giggle in the background began to grow louder, their hearts lighter.
Joyce gingerly lifted the lid of the machine, delicately placing the artefact from her hand onto the glistening panel, smoothening it out. She had to make sure the artefact was placed exactly within the specified margins or the plan would not work. After double-checking that everything was in place, she shut the lid with silent confidence. Sam stood close, observing carefully and learning the procedure for it would be her turn next. With a steady finality to it all, Joyce then pushed the big green button. The machine beeped and started to move, scanning the artefact across from one end to the other. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, it began to chug. Slowly at first, then picking up speed, its rhythm most peculiarly irregular yet hypnotic.
The giggle rose up like a bubble and broke as Joyce gave a little quip. It looks like her task was almost completed! Just as abruptly as it started, the chugging stopped and the machine gave out a loud beep, announcing that its job had been done. Breaking into a smile, lips curling upwards to reveal her teeth, Joyce reached out for the document that slid out onto the tray. As she laid her eyes on the result of her meticulous planning, rumbling laughter erupted from her little body as she held it up proudly with both hands, displaying it for Sam to see. Sam doubled over, clutching her stomach. She could hardly believe what she saw. It was like magic! Sam could not help but join in the throes of uncontrollable laughter and celebration of her sister’s success.
There, imprinted on the stark white sheet of paper, was the unmistakable, most humouring thing of all- the perfect print of her favourite snoopy panties!
Joyce and Sam laughed until tears began to form in their eyes as they repeated the process, Sam enthusiastically trying out her first shot at this.
Then came the screeching of the main gate and the grumble of the matriarch vehicle. She had returned. Each holding about 2-3 copies of warm and crisply printed paper in their hands, Sam and Joyce quickly snatched up their prized possessions and “certificates of achievements”, flipped the power switch to OFF, putting the machine back to sleep and dashed out of the study room. In a flash of motions, they quickly stashed the evidence in the secret compartment in their closet and rushed to the living room, plopped themselves on the sofa, turned on the television and acted like they had been watching Powerpuff Girls this whole time.
Still giggling intermittently at the outrageous adventure they just had, it was perfect timing as the main door clicked open and in stepped the matriarch. “Hi, Mom!” Both girls called in that coyly sweet voice of theirs, plastered on their faces were the “ innocent-puppy-eyed” expressions.
With a nod of approval, their mummy dearest carried her bag of groceries to the kitchen and Sam and Joyce let loose their infectious but final bout of laughter. With a high-five to seal the deal, there was nothing more exhilarating and satisfying than a task well planned and executed. What more was there to say, other than- MISSION PANTY-COPY ACCOMPLISHED!
