this sem has been crazy.

i think its just gonna get harder each yr! haha once we cross a hurdle, they'll set up the next bar much much higher than before so we just have to continue working harder n become better (:

FINALLY for once in this semester so far, i can take a breather. finally can relax my mind, enjoy some time for myself.. without worrying abt exams / assignments to come. there ARE assignments n exams that r coming again (onslaught, really.) n its going to get REALLY INSANE soon.

this is the calm before the storm. n i should take every opportunity to treasure this calm.

tmr we r taking a break from school, yes, we r ponning school, to go to victoria park for a wonderful picnic! i cant wait! i think it'll be good! will take pictures! (:

chronic gastric problems r not good n i seriously hope my over zealous gastric juices haven't already or rather, are not intending to burn a hole in my stomach wall.. i don't want gastric ulcer pls

but gastric has become a part of daily life it seems... too often for my liking n it has def got to do with my psychological state.. i jus have to learn how to relax!!! although retail therapy n chocolate helps alleviate the symptoms temporarily, its not solving the root of the problem

don't ask me why im so high strung n stressed over nothing, my brain often goes on auto-pilot-overdrive n i can't relax!!

last yr i wasn't this terrible! it was under control at least, n i felt like i could relax.. now its more like i want to relax but i feel guilty when i do, cuz i know there is so much work/studying/catching up to do or maybe i feel overwhelmed cuz theres so much i still don't know!

mmm im sad cuz elisa's leaving us on saturday! its so unreal. sigh i will rly miss her!

n i miss home! i miss my mama! n my sisters n my loki! n pepper as well. haha n its only april n its only mid sems.. still a long way to go, joyce... long way to go... till june/ly

CHOCOLATE CRAVINGS......

had this sudden craving for chocolate yesterday! hmm i was looking up chocolate online n i realised theres actually a LOT of things one can do with chocolate!! hahaha

and as i would say, there is no better therapy than RETAIL THERAPY n CHOCOLATE.

toaster craze !!! hahaha i chanced upon a hello kitty toaster online while looking for a farewell gift idea for a friend.. n then i was like HMM! Thats interesting! so i decided to look for more cool toasters! theres rly quite a lot! n i rly rly rly want one!! HAHA (esp the star wars one! n no, i dn want hello kitty) anyway, here they are!!!

there was this cat sitting at the porch in front of my apartment ytd aftnn, the sweetest cat ever. now i'm quite certain i want a cat! LOL its so pretty! i was playing with it for a long time hehe! its a russian blue! i wonder if he belongs to anyone!!

cuz later in the day it wasn't there anymore.. but elisa says shes seen this cat around SUV before so i do hope he comes back again! i'm always itching to get a pet!

anyway speaking of pets, if i haven't mentioned before, i want a tarantula too! a mexican redknee tarantula would be good! hahhaha n NO its not creepy or gross!

mmm n thats not weird.. i think teacup pigs are weirder!! apparently the new trend, these super tiny piglets r getting popular in UK! but they're only that size when they're newborn la.. they do grow bigger, just not as big as a normal pig

but i think its not v good leh, they're like mutants... cuz pigs arent naturally THAT small! im sure they'll have problems somewhere.. haha or mayb its just me, i don't like the idea of it.. haha there r some articles saying that the reason for their small size is chronic underfeeding and malnutrition.. n some say its a scam cuz the sow may be only 3-4 months old so breeders pass off the 'mum' as a full-grown, mature teacup pig, but it is in fact still growing..

i hav seen pictures like these before n yupp i think they're cute too! but i wouldn't wanna keep them as pets though.. haha not v fond of small small animals (except spider/stick insect).. haha n i didnt know they were rly THAT small!! i thought mayb they were so small just because they were rly young.. not because they were bred to be that way! hahaha anyway, i think it would b so amusing if someone takes their pig out for a walk on the streets or in the park.. would certainly be interesting!!

i've seen someone walking a goat around king st/broadway before a couple of times (YES I WANT A GOAT TOO! SO CUTE RLY!) and a lady walking a ferret along king st (sorry i want a ferret too!!)... n someone said that theres a lady who walks her RABBITS along glebe point rd!!! hahaha but i've never seen that yet!

my new converse high cuts! gorgeous.

n i had the whole aftnn of nothing to do (which i enjoyed for once) so i decided to take pictures of them! i was thinking of... "walking in someone else's shoes" n these r my shoes... n those things i put in my shoes in that picture r more or less the things that make me, me.

yea ! so the idea was, if someone were t walk in my shoes, this will b what they would see/feel.. n sometimes i wish people can see the world n see some things through my eyes, feel about it the way i do... cuz its hard to explain in words sometimes... n then even if u get it right, people just can't comprehend it sometimes.

u know feelings, beliefs, all the intangible stuff, they're always gonna be difficult to define! if people could step into my shoes n understand how i tick, it would make things a whole lot easier.. aaah i cant explain it appropriately la!! but i feel it.

ok n we went to watch WICKED the musical this evening! it was really really good! the theatre decoration was cool! n for the record, Wicked is a musical about the Wizard of Oz, more like a Prequel to it..n yes, i have a thing for musicals too! the way they sing, it just moves me. maybe the raw passion/talent/nobility of it.. the same feeling when i think of animals like whales n sharks n eagles n tigers... theres sth different. =)

hmm!!!!! n theres this v v v cool cup!! i actually bought the drink there cuz i wanted the cup!! hahaha!! it lights up!! n theres a switch!! it changes colour!!! DAMN COOL!!! its what i wanted to do last time! HAHAHA last time i rsorted to using light sticks as stirrers in my cup!! all for the glow!

but yea, i loved the musical n it links to the wizard of oz (original story) rly well !! if it goes to singapore, i highly recommend it!!

ytd started out horribly. thou shall not elaborate on that cuz it would b make me sound v prone to suicide.

soooo every once in a while, us neurotic vet students do need to take a break n let off some steam! its easter break finally. and last night was the butter down under party, organised by singapore students society.. and it set things straight for me...

the music n place wasnt rly good but the company was! XD n alcohol. haha. abby me n joyce had heaps of fun i think! high high up the sky! but not drunk la. thats the beauty of it all. "Don't stop make it pop DJ blow your speakers up tonight imma fight till we see the sunlight tik tok on the clock but the party don't stop no .... " yes yes. we fought till we saw the sunlight. hahaha partied till abt 5 n then headed to Pancakes on the Rocks for bfast! thus reaching home at abt 6? n concussed to a v good night's(or morning's) sleep.

easter break is coming closer n closer! too bad our plans to go to hunter valley didn't materialise but im sure i can entertain myself somehow, gg to the botanical gardens for a picnic, go tanning on the beach, n of course, i have to study for intersem exams too.

thursday night is butter down under! im looking fwd to it! its gonna be held at bondi =)

time for a breather!

just finished my insane genetics assignment. don't be fooled by it. sounds innocently simple -design a poster, BUT! they ask u to cover so many points, theres no way it can look like a poster. LOL! A3 format, font size 12, include colourful diagrams n images -.-" n cover the points listed in the instructions. haha anyway, we were supposed to write abt the genomic sequence of an animal that has had its genome sequenced, kinda like the human genome project. well, i decided to choose sth special - FUGU! pufferfish! yes, it has had its genome sequenced! it was the 2nd vertebrate to be sequenced after humans u know!

yup. pls don't faint.

yes and that caused me a lot of pain to complete. so so so thankful its finally done. its 15% of our mark for this sem for genetics leh. that THING, 15 % !

ok anyway, the highlight of this week was.... LADY GAGA! MONSTER BALL! 18 march, thursday, 730pm, with nic n abby, after a full-on day at sch from 9-5pm. yes. it was insane.

it was FULL HOUSE! (of course!)

omg omg omg. n i was so blown away. because, lady gaga is my favourite! all time favourite!! wahaha to see her perform live, was the most satisfying, gratifying thing ever, after a busy busy wk n a busy busy day in sch. as usual, she had so many interesting costumes! n even had one that could move! like a robot, as in, the costume was like a robot. it had this fan thing, n it could move on its own, opening n closing the fan(the one on her head)! and actually the bottom part of the dress could move too u know!

oooh!!! yes. THIS ONE!! IT MOVES!

and then, she had this piano which was in the front bonnet of a car!! n seriously, i have never seen anyone play the piano like gaga. hahaha! she can play the piano with her leg on the keyboard, while standing on the seat, squatting, etc. OH! n her 2nd piano had fire on it (she has a thing for fire)!! and her 3rd one, looked like a prism thing, it looked so cool! we were like...whats that?? OH!!! OMG! THATS A KEYBOARD!!

sunday mornings always start the same. groggily waking up and trudging to the gym for body pump class with elisa n nanako, which always set the morning straight, cuz LouLou's enthusiasm and energy just infects everyone. N yes, sunday mornings r set straight once i leave the gym, feeling accomplished and ready to start the day proper

brunch n laundry follows.

this aftnn, studied in the meeting room - yes, i must. cuz thursday is gaga's concert! its always easier to concentrate in the meeting room n studying becomes so much more productive. but not the case for today. i have no idea what got into me this arvo.

my mum rang up after lunch jus to chat a bit, n up came the topic about our family year-end holiday. the final decision -UK, probably London + another place nearby (idk yet), sometime in Dec for abt 7-10 days.. and i guess it just threw me off course (that, plus some things that happened before that)

i won't be there for his bday this yr, n for the next 4 years. n well, out of 12 months in a yr, the max. i can b with him is 4 months. and out of the 4 months, only JULY n DEC are our common holidays (give n take).. so yes. 1st wk of Dec NUS is still probably having exams so he'll be busy.. n wk2-3 most likely gg for holiday in london w my family n that leaves 1 pathetic wk of december, which will be busy due to xmas and new yr parties. sigh. its not reeally all rainbows and candy huh. BUT! its not like i don't believe what i started cannot be accomplished. it can. its just tough. and requires patience. and strength i think, mental strength. and lots of perseverance- never give up.

haha i admit, its not the most ideal circumstances at all, but i feel its all worth it. yea. no point complaining about it actually (but we all do pointless things sometimes).. cuz i chose this. and i should just make the precious 4 months special and memorable, such that it is worth the other 8 months apart. i have never really failed in anything major, have never really failed to get what i want when i REALLY REALLY REALLY want it, so i will believe. because i want to, because i have to, and most importantly, because i do.

alright. enough sad/serious talk.. lets talk about DINNER! foood is always a good subject to talk about. hehe my tempeh is actually successful!! simple homely meal, cooking n eating w the girls, it just cheered me up =)

what a week! been so caught up with everything that time just zooms by so quickly (other than when im actually in school, it crawls n inches along ever so slowly)

zzz n yes!! long awaited but finallly, went to watch Alice in Wonderland, IMAX 3D! apparently sydney's IMAX theatre has the largest screen in the world. and i booked the tickets really early so we got very very good seats! middle of the middle. n i really really loved the movie!! SO MUCH! well, i have to say, i'm a tim burton, johnny depp and alice in wonderland fan to start out with so i am totally biased towards this movie anyway.

i think its cuz i feel like alice sometimes, im in my own world n i see things through my own eyes in my own perspective which may be contrary to what most people believe. i don't like to conform and i don't really care so i don't. i just do what I feel is right (even though some people may think its wrong). and i think thats the way to live life, by your own principles. and explore the world through your own, unique set of ideas/opinions/beliefs/perception. it doesn't always have to be fish and chips just because it was MEANT to be fish and chips. it can just as likely be fish and mashmellows if you fancy! well, and yes, it is good to believe in the impossible just because its fun, and it makes life so much more interesting and optimistic and special. BECAUSE, for a lot of things, all you need to do is to believe in it and it will come true somehow. its like religion (okie i know, sensitive! but still!!) yes, like religion. if you belive in god, he will answer your prayers. if you believe in guan yin, she will protect you. if you believe in hindu gods/dieties, they will give you the power to poke metal into yourself and carry the kavadi around on thaipusam. JUST an example. but i like believing in impossible things, cuz too few people do.

yes, so anyways. GO WATCH ALICE IN WONDERLAND in 3D if you haven't just because i m so in love with it, i could watch it again! (but IMAX totally made it outstanding)

ok, no. Imax AND JOHNNY DEPP. i love johnny depp's films. all of them are so...whats-the-word, impressionable! from edward scissorhands to captain jack sparrow, willy wonka to sweeny todd, and now, the mad hatter!

my 6 impossible(ok mayb not rly impossible, but yes, rather weird) things i belive in:

1) Love

- doesn't have to have a reason. doesn't have to follow any form of 'template', just discover it urself, make your own rules, play your(n your +1) own game. trumps everything else, and anything can happen if you make it happen.

2) Anesthesia

- they should do this for people in the future! cause we are all going to die one day some day anyway. and if it is a slow and painful death, what kind of life would that be, living so that pain and disease can eat u away slowly until you are nothing but a body hooked up on machines and pumped with meds.

3) Animals should revolt against humans

- yes, for what we do to them sometimes is so horrible. we burn their homes, we stick them in cages and pens and make them overwork, and then we slaughter and eat them. in the wild, poachers catch them, sell them illegally where they aren't going to be well taken care of, away from their natural habitats. people kill them for their skins to be put on the floor for people to walk all over. tsk tsk. imagine if animals turned against humans instead. we have committed heinous crimes against them!

4) Houses should be painted in all sorts of funky colours (other than white and other shades of white). Literally, the outside of houses, not rooms. And yes, it doesn't even have to be just one colour! do what you like! patterns, stripes, spots, random splats of paint.

5) Cooking- its like chemistry. just add a little bit of this, a little bit of that, conduct some experiments and voila! you have a new creation. (of course, practise and skill is needed too). but it should be fun!

6) The world needs more interesting people, more happy endings, less conflicts. How awesome it would be, if everyone could just go about wearing whatever they wanted to, without worrying about people thinking it looks weird, or whether your bag matches your top, etc etc etc. thats why i admire lady gaga. and if everyone stops caring so much about all the insignificant things/people/comments and just concentrate on the important ones, life would be so much easier and everyone would be so much happier. life should be easy. life should be like a dream.

-> i wouldnt exactly consider that 6 'things' but it works well enough for me.

tmr is sunday already!!! gosh! the familiar, weekly sunday dreads - OHNO! my weekend is almost over! hahaha so yes, gotta make the most of it! dinner with the girls again tmr! n its my turn to cook! eeks! tempeh, maybe an omelette, and some veggies, and rice! geez, my culinary skills are gonna be put to the test! LOL ill try to take pictures tmr. see what my food ends up like. hahaha! wish me luck! ta!

anyway, last wkend elisa came over to cook n teach us how to make her ratatoille for dinner! its a french dish, sth like a vegetable stew w tomato base... u eat it with bread or pasta.. and its REALLY YUMMY! n actually very easy to make tooo! all u need are onions, zuccini, red capsicum, eggplant, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and olive oil!

looks quite good right! hahaha im always experimenting and anyhow cooking things my own way... kinda fun actually!

every sat or sun morning, elisa, nanako n i will go gymming and then head to a nice cafe for a lovely brunch followed by grocery shopping, laundry, etc.

so yes, this is at our new favourite cafe... cinque (chin-kuay) -which is spanish or sth for number 5 (idk y)....but its one of the places we frequent =)

I now have a place i can call home, at least that is the best i can have over here at the moment.

it was a really painful process, the cleaning, the vaccuuming, which involved fixing up the vaccuum cleaner first.. haha and yes!!! i m rly v happy that the apartment is nice n neat n clean now! n fit for humans to live in comfortably! the carpet changed from greying-blue to dark-blue after we vaccuumed the layer of dust encrusted on it ! im SERIOUS.

after a long long long long hiatus, i'm back to blogging. It seems like i only bother to blog when i'm in sydney for some reason, probably boredom. or maybe cuz in singapore, nothing interesting happens too often n i'm easily in touch w my friends so blogging seems quite redundant n foolish

aye. i'm back in sydney once again. 22nd feb i touched down n arrived at my apartment to find it in a dingy dirty messy state, i was so devastated! after moving alll my things from abby's room to my place, n then up 3 flights of narrow winding stairs, to my new empty room, i felt so LOST! n depressed n lonely all of a sudden. BUT! i got myself together n then started packing n setting up my new room n things r going really well now! i have decided NOT to unpack everything cuz its just too much of a hassle. i'll just live with it like this n erm unpack those things i need when i rly rly need them.. cuz i have one more huge suitcase that i have left untouched.. my winter coats n clothes mostly.. so yes.. i'll unpack in winter la! can right?

SO.....im in a 4 bedroom apartment in SUV now, housemates Hazel, Nanako and Grace. we had a MASSIVE spring cleaning last night, resurrected our kitchen n living room from its dead and stale n mouldy state =) i'm proud of us. so so proud.

now it looks somewhat like a home =)

this v v pretty vintage box caught my eye immediately. n it was only $15 !! i love how the edges r chipped slightly n i like the idea that this thing had a past (sort of).. yea n i can use it to keep my hairbands so they dun get crushed! or cameras or bra or like, whatever i want to keep in it for that matter..

D gave me this b4 i left at the airport! what a huge huge lolly! i am gonna do a rainbow lolly challenge one day in the near future n i will eat just that lolly for the whole day n see how long i take to finish it LOL!

CNY is almost over now and i can't believe i'm gg back to sydney in less than a week!!

today was such a busy day, first i met up w zhuting to bake robin's bday cake.. what ambitious ppl we are, trying to bake him a mango mousse cake! it was disastrous at first... but we improvised and made it work! haha thank goodness the final product looks quite awesome! ppl don't have to know the process of making it. LOL! as long as it looks good and tastes alright. =)

then xinni n mabz came over to chill n thats rly all we did! entertain ourselves on youtube and eat eat eat ? LOL

n then went to my aunt's place to have dinner... what a sumptous dinner indeed! i'm so so bloated now hahaha everytime we go over to her house its like an 8-course dinner! XP

beeen a long while!! haven't bothered to update much since nothing reallly exciting has happened and some stuff i don't have to post haha

2 days ago met up w fj around noon to shop for rob's bday present n then left to meet val n then met w rob n D in the evening!! what a long long day it was, and i spent most of the time WALKING!!! shopped till i was tired literally hahaha luckily i didn't anhow buy stuff!! and i awoke the next morning to sore and aching legs!

i cant believe i only have 2 weeks till i fly back to sydney! i feel like i still have a lot of time but its not the case apparently. time to make the most of the time i have left! =)

sigh. i don't know whats gotten into me. i feel like i came back to singapore jus to create trouble. i should shut my mouth. blurting out random stuff that does not in any way benefit anyone is a disaster. and i keep getting myself into stupid little messes, without fail. and it doesn't feel goood and i feel guilty for not being able to consider the consequences clearly before acting the way i do. i tried thinking b4 acting and it can feel rational at that point of time, but after the mess is made, then i realise my 'rational' isn't that rational afterall.

and i wasn't ever like this before. i have no idea what happened. i've been putting myself deliberately outside my own comfort zone over the past few months i guess i have widened the zone somewhat, and that makes me become comfortable with doing/saying things i may not actually be comfortable with initially quite easily.

analogy: spoilt compass that keeps spinning..pendulum, tick tock tick tock. back n forth n back n forth.

i need to stop all this nonsense. i feel like i keep saying that lately. but yea, for all the messes made, i have only myself to blame cuz i'm the messy one.

i really need some direction in life and some brain rewiring. i can't keep running in little circles anymore.

then today we went to zhen yi's condo to play tennis n hav dinner.. LOL i SUCK at tennis seriously... zzz i cant even hit the balll!!! hahaha tell me la.. why why why m i so utterly hopeless with all ball games! sigh! everytime i play with them i provide them w entertainment u know! oooh i drove there and back tooo! of course, w my mum as my "gps".. i think im improving slightly.. at least i feel a tad more confident behind the wheel, tho my sense of direction is terrible.

Body Worlds Exhibition at Science centre was the bomb! It was in singapore in 2002 previously n i saw it then. However, this time i felt that i could appreciate it much much more! cuz we do our fair share of dissection pracs in school and learn anatomy and stuff like that, we can relate to it more, and i reallly admire the founder of this exhibition and the person who did all the dissection work is a GENIUS, seriously PRO, IMBA!

this was one of my favourite exhibits on display there. The muscle-man and the skeleton are actually from the SAME body!! its really amazing how they manages to separate the muscles and the skeleton so neatly. The muscle-body specimen wasn't really cut up at all! so i hav no idea how they managed to ease the entire skieletal body out in such completeness. PERFECT!!! reallly

There were of course more interesting and amazing pieces of work on display but this was one of the pictures i could find from their website cuz we aren't allowed to take any photos. My FAVOURITE of favourites was the GIRAFFE! there was this huge girafffe specimen nicely done! and a 2nd giraffe cut up into multiple transverse plates/planes frmo head to toe and displayed. its really something! i was reallly impressed!

and then we went to the science centre to walk around cuz the $21 ticket is inclusive of Body Worlds and Science Centre ( $20 body worlds, $1 sci centre) LOL and let me tell u... the science centre has CHANGED SO MUC since i last rmb it, which was prolly in pri sch when we had some sch excursion/course! Now its become very interactive and interesting, the science centre, a lot of things to see for just $1. The exhibits there are also quite new in fact! we didnt have time to explore everything but its alright! I will probably bring Abby over to see the exhibition and sci centre when she comes over.. i think most medical-related students can reallly reallly appreciate the Body Worlds exhibit and science centre will just be for fun.. hehe

ahh n then i was damn tired from it all cuz we spent the entire afternoon there!! hehe! went back home to stone n slack.. n was actually intending on sleeping EARLY for once!! n early was like 930pm?? LOL! BUT BUT BUT!!! Fj had to ask me to go chill w them at some gay club (omg i think im developing this thing for gay clubs.. but okie nvm, that is NOT the point).. n yeaaaaaa in the end, i jus hauled n dragged myself to go meet them! my eyes were seriously half closing! hehe! BUT i have to say, after a few drinks, it turned out to be a goood clubbing session LOL! was definitely worth it in the end (: love the spontaneity of it all!

n yes. finally at 4am on a friday night, i'm on the verge of falling asleep here!! so i'll be saying gooodnight now!! ive got a feeling, tonights gonna be a goood gooood night!! XD

first day at mount pleasant today after .. such a long time! im sooo rusty really haha.. everything that was so familiar before felt so unfamiliar! luckily they werent that busy n i could like watch n get myself back on the right track.. heh im gonna try to do cat cast on wed! as for today.. i intubated a dog =) n saw them treat this Aural Haematoma (<-- click) cat.. they had to sedate the cat then they cut the swollen ear open n drained all the blood that was accumulating n removed the clots..nth super exciting but yea, at least i feel like im doing sth concrete n learning now.. heh! even if its only gonna be 3 days a week!

itssss amazing how many things can happen in one yr.. how much things can change in just one yr.. how much my mindset has changed (for better and for worse)..

new yrs just a few hours away! ahh n normally i don't like resolutions cuz i'll just forget them in a while n also i'm gonna feel like.. GOSH! i have so much i can improve on! hahaha n i don't reallly want this yr to end yet cuz i haven't tied up all the loose ends for this yr!!

but i'll pen them down still.. it's time for me to be honest to myself too.. there are things that need changing/improving and i'll deal with them (:

ready for 2010?

1) Be more rational! Impulsive can be good sometimes but i think i've been too impulsive for my liking, its dangerous, so i should really think more b4 i act/say things

2) Exercise more n eat healthy n proper food n stop being a tim-tam-eating-machine!

3) Save money!

4) Be a happy happy person (shouldnt be hard) n don't be so anti-social ( i think this is nt rly gonna happen cuz im rly bad at making new friends)

5) Don't complain so much, enjoy vet school n try to stay awake in lectures n continue getting my distinctions

6) Keep in touch with syd n singapore friends and be nice to family (hehe!)

7) Learn how to cook n drive better (i totally SUCK at both)

8) Quit being a lazy bum! Its time to live it up and make myself useful cuz life's short! I should get my energy back!

4B gathering was fun! haha my favourite class n my close friends =) we had way tooo much foood though! hahaha the guys stayed over n we played guitar heroes! i rly sucked at that game (what's new, i suck at most games) wahaha but it was v fun n amusing! but my body clock is so screwed up now i can't slp at night n i wake up in the afternooons!

finally back in singapore, after exams n all.. sem 2 was real quick and it was a good one!! we studied hard and played hard

the week after exams in Camden was the best week this sem! hehe abby nic n i rented an apartment at maclin lodge in campbelltown which was pretty affordable!! i think its actually cheaper n better than my own room in SUV! hahaha that one bedroom apartment had a proper kitchen, washing maching, dryer, iron, n it was spacious and compact at the same time wahaha n we make good housemates i think...

We went through stuff we did this year, Sheep, Pig, Cattle, Horse.. i liked sheep n cattle best! hahaha flipping sheep on conveyor belts, ultrasounding, shearing, ear tagging, drawing blood ( we all love drawing blood!! XD ) ,, drafting cattle i like!! we had to estimate the body condition score of cattle n their weights- that's what we were assessed on..

haha n driving around on our own, living in our own house, cooking our own food, washing our own clothes, it feels so liberating.. n abby n nic felt like my sister and brother.. i miss abby whos in penang now n i miss nic whos still in sydney now.. ahhhhh LOL it was a fun one this sem =)

anyways, i really don't like singapore. its so suffocating even thinking about it. i don't wanna go back. i wanna stay here w my friends n have fun!! lots of fun n be myself n be happy, laze around, explore, go to the beach or sth, make my own decisions, do my own things here in sydney! away from the hot humid weather, away from the criticism n hypocrisy that's so commonly seen around, away from the judging eyes and closed-in brains that can't accept things that r slightly different, away from disappointment, away from everyone who's too busy, away from the stressful-milling about, away from relatives who're waiting to tell u u've grown fatter, away from vegetarian-unfriendly singapore, away from having to have a family-parents n siblings to answer to everyday..so unpatriotic n not-very-nice-at-all, but yes, thats how i feel about singapore, for now.

i love my family yes but i think its nice being independent on my own here actually. n i can do lotsa stuff w/o having to answer to anyone but myself. in sydney, only good things happen. there have been many plans of 'to-dos' n 'to-meet's when i go back but im just preparing myself for the worst so i won't get majorly disappointed..cuz..in singapore, well, i'll just wait n see if anything manages to change my mind..

i'd still go back of course, n when i go back i'm gonna still b happy coz theres no point in me feeling mopey about it cuz nobody's gonna benefit from it so yes, i'll make myself happy, do my own things if need be, enjoy my holiday time n then decide when to come back to sydney.. haven't booked my air ticket back yet

melbourne was a dream..a nice dream.. just chilled out, walked around, ate awesome gelato and a ginormous cheesecake which was WOW! hahaha i think i should be very thankful as lady luck seems to be shining down on me lately..i feel blessed n peaceful n blissfully happy.. haha

free meal in melb, lucky series of events on my flight back from melb to sydney..n other little little insignificant things in my life recently..its been good.. even in sydney, the last couple of days i've been doing assignment n walking around the city, eat, shop (a bit!) hahaha n relaxing, enjoying my break..its been so long since i've been this chill!

n i feel like i've become more laidback now..i used to be unable to function if i don't have a plan..daily plan, weekly plan, whatsoever..hahaha n now, im like, ohwell, we'll see how things go tmr n decide when we meet! hehe!! its quite a nice feeling actually!

oh gosh. my laptop internet's down and im using the computer at the resource centre..just for the internet..n it doesnt work very well either! =(

sheep prac went well.. it was reallly hands on! exciting, abit scary at some point of time, n we had a bbq for lunch! bring our own food n use the bbq pit there.. was nice n cozy n chill, bbq on a farm hahaha =)

we tried shearing a bit of sheep, guessing weights, examining rams-they're nasty things, n worked w lambs, which was the scary part..vaccination, ear marking-cutting off part of the ear(lyk hole puncher kind), ear tagging, tail docking (cauterise), and castration! i pity the poor lambs, seems so traumatising!! so many things being done to them..but the recover really quickly from it n don't seem to b in much distress, happily eating grass n cuddling with their friends after..

hmm n yea, i've got bangs now! which i really really like! =)

today was a rly good day!! went to makoto for sushi..yummy!! n then headed over to capitol square where i played the catch-toy-machine for the 1st time ever!! AND AND AND!! it must be beginners luck, because my 1st try-i put in $5 which gave me 3 chances.. 1st try-miss, 2nd try- caught a green tofu, 3rd try- caught a pink tofu!! WAHAHA!! damn happy!!! my friends all caught other smaller tofu soft toys too!! theyre seriously cute!! hahaha!! i changed $10 woth of coins so i decided to try again after, but didnt get anything. i think i used up my luck for today alrdy, n btr not b too greedy.. hehe!!

n we went to take neoprint after that- LOL!! such a sec sch thing.. it was quite fun actually-once in a while! hehe!! i would so so love to post pictures!! but the stupid internet here is hopeless. gosh!

today zoomed by so quickly n i felt as if i did lotsa stuff!

school was good, we had this fish husbandry lecture which was quite interesting actually, and the lecturer was this funny n amusing fish lady.. im looking fwd to our fish prac at camden after the break now! =)

n had my PP consult session today, which i felt went pretty well! i was nervous no doubt, but it was kinda fun u noe, pretending to be a vet n all!! my client was very obliging n didnt make things difficult for me so, lucky me!! wayne's client was SO difficult!! but it was good coz he will have HEAPS to write about in his critique assignment!! haha we get our videos of our consults on thursday, n then i shall write my critique over the wkend. LOL i think im gonna look so retarded on the video la

anyway, got renee to cut my hair for me!! i've got bangs now!! pretty awesome!! i rly rly like them. XD n then went to watch UP in 3D.. WOW. WOW. WOW! the 3D effect is cool stuff seriously, i think all of those animated movies should be in 3D!! its definitely worth $20, all the things look so real and the colours were so bright n nice.. the real world we live in PALES in comparison.. and and and!!! we get to keep our 3D glasses! =) quite nice u noe, its not the cheapskate cardboard-thin, red/blue "glasses" but lyk actual glasses!! like sunnnies!! n the lens are tinted in a dark shade. thats it! no red/blue thing. i would dare to wear them out lyk any normal pair of sunnies leh! they go very well w my bangs too.. LOL!!

n i like everything about the movie, so so funny!!! the talking dogs(seriously quite cool), the little scout boy russel, n i love the colourful bird-kevin! so amusing!! n the nice fluffy clouds n colourful balloons... XD

tmr will have to do up my dairy group work essay assignment thing, by hook or by crook as its due on thursday!! n results for our VAP tests are out on the noticeboard in sch.. eeks!! check tmr.. but i think i should have done pretty alrite =D

2nd post of the day..gosh

my mum called me just now, i think we chatted briefly for less than 1 min b4 we hung up.

my sis told me on msn later that my mum stepped on a shard of glass in the kitchen this arvo n hurt her foot v badly..cant move much now.. n my mum didnt tell me on the phone coz she told my sis that she knows that i don't rly wanna talk much nowadays

n i thought about it, after my sis told me everything.. n i finally realised why i dun feel lyk talking to my mum

well, its very selfish but i know that i have a choice- to talk heaps(i rly can) or to not talk much at all. n right now, i know that if i start talking heaps, it will make me miss me mum a whole lot n miss home n everything. its easier if i just keep my distance, don't get so attached right now, so i don't get that homesick. n it kinda works, the keep ur distance thing. coz i wasn't as homesick as last sem.. n i feel satisfied that i finally figured out why i was doing that..not a good way to deal with it actually. have to say sorry to my mama for that. =( hope her foot recovers fast!

gosh. theres assignments piling up. i shall take time off next wk to FULLY relax n hav fun n catch up w snail mail n friends properly, n storybooks n my mum =D (sigh, n assignments too of course but all the rest comes first)

the dogs were so good at herding n controlling the sheep..they didnt rly have to bark a lot or bite.. they just use their presence n their eyes.. the sheep get scared.. and go where the dog wants them to go, which is of course, where the owner wants the dogs to move the sheep to..

we had to learn how to approach n catch a sheep n restrain it.. n spent most of the day wrestling w sheep hahaha .. checked their teeth, gave them a mani/pedi-nail clip!, and carried them over fences LOL body condition scoring n estimating weights and drafting sheep.. was real fun!!! LOL but ive got sore arms now from all that sheep wrestling

theyre very docile though!! so gentle! n retarded! n cute! coz when we restrain them in that position, they just sit there w/o knowing how to get up! LOL!! the group in the other pen decided to line them up.. so very very cute! i think all animals r like that u noe.. they have their own antics which r rly v funny sometimes!!

and aft that went out clubbing at HOME, but i didnt rly like it coz it was tooo crowded n the ppl were pushy..haha i liked the lights though! XP the bright flashes.. idk how ppl do it.. i just can't do the let loose n anyhow just dance thing LOL! oh well! my friends know im awkward and they're still my friends so i dun mind XD ...oh but yar! there was lyk some event there.. which was so weird.. coz there was some performance n they were all gays/drag queens n stuff like that.. dirty dancing n lyk doing all the mardi-gras-ish stuff LOL we were lyk.. HMMMMM!!!!! n hmmmm! i think its not that big a deal to me anymore coz sydneys good in a way that there is always weird ppl around so its good, nobody rly expects anything of/from you n u can just b urself(weird or not) n do what u like n b happy!

singapore's so judgemental.. ppl will expect u to behave/think/act in certain ways n not many ppl do many crazy things.. or mayb its just that i didnt do much when i was in singapore la LOL! but its kinda weird now that i feel lyk im 1 person when im in singapore n another different person when im here! here's good in a way that makes me happy to be me..happier, less apathetic more energetic more confident. here, fat ppl can wear bikinis on the beach n u can tell nobody rly cares much, but i think if u do that in sentosa, ppl will judge u. even ppl u duno, they'll disapprove n judge u. if i wear my bunny ear hairband w lights thingy, ppl will prolly think im insane LOL n knowing i cannot dance, i dont n wont dare to try clubbing in singapore. wahaha if i bump into someone i know there, i will just die.

i used to think i knew myself pretty well inside out, but now im realising actually i dont! hahaha i don't know myself that well afterall

gosh the last week has been very hard..kept having nightmares, n feeling like a zombie

weekend was good though! friday went to bondi beach w abby n nanako to chill or rather, to relax n tan =) and we found out theres a kite flying festival- Festival of the Winds on sunday!!

soooo... we went there again today!! flew kites, played in the freezing cold sea.. the waves are awesome! my friend says the "waves" we were playing in today isnt actually the waves.. its just the "swell" the real waves r much bigger.. im lyk woahh! singapore seas dont even have a "swell" HAHAHA

anyway, kite flying was fun! there were so many kites n so many ppl on bondi beach today =)

HAHA i had an awesome wkend! gymming n being happy! my energy's back! n i rmb how to zi high again XP

about yesterday's alpacca..

alpacca farm was slack.. we ended 2 hrs early =D one of the most relaxing pracs ever.. haha their spit stinks lyk crazy, thank gdness they dun spit at us, they spit at each other, we jus have to b careful not to get caught in the crossfire..theyre awfully cute and retarded creatures..the sound they make is called a hum.. n it sounds like this : "mmmm" (sort of??) lol! they hum when they r STRESSED out.. wahaha

yea, we got to watch artificial insemination on the alpaccas too..quite cool n quite funny too..they're trained to mount a dummy alpacca n ejaculate into an artificial vagina HAHA n they still think they're having sex..poor delusional alpaccas..but yea! its quite interesting how they're doing research to make AI possible coz at the moment AI is not an option for alpaccas coz their semen is too viscous n cant b frozen n thus isnt of much use for AI

had a look at sunflowers n thistles! i like thistles now! LOL they're interesting n nice though they're prickly

hmm n i took home an artichoke plant-its a type of thistle! its dried alrdy so it won't rot or anything..i think its v pretty though it looks kinda sinister.. lol! my friends kept saying it has an evil aura..but i think its quite artistic looking

for those who dunno, artichokes can be eaten u noe! n they're quite yummy actually.. but don't rly see much of them in any food at all in singapore..

and today, slept in instead of gg to the gym coz it was nice cloudy n cooling in the morning = perfect weather to sleeep! HAHA ok, honestly, i woke up w a headache so i went back to slp n met Abby later in the morning to go to the city! Well, out initial plan was to go to the gigantic apple shop along george st to get my laptop checked, but thank gdness, my laptop is now working perfectly!! phew! so no nid to send it there, we went to take a look in the apple store anyway coz we r thinking of getting iphone this end of yr b4 we go back home hehe!! that apple store is seriously v pretty!

yea n anyway, we somehow decided to jus walk around n shop!! walked the entire george street n went to darling harbour.. we learnt sth new today too! the darling harbour bridge can open up!! hmm i don't know how to describe it but i was v awed by it, coz it moved so silently! it opened up to allow this ship to pass thru..pretty awesome!

n yes!! at harbourside shopping mall... we bought quite a lot of stuff! i bought... 5 tops for $65! GOOD DEAL rite! each thing was like $10-$15 only XD i felt like a tourist today coz i never explored darling harbour n harbourside properly b4! n i didnt know walking there was actually quite easy, n its actually VERY near chinatown!

oh yes, n i really couldn't resist!! look what i got now..a rabbit beanie softtoy! for only $5! what a steal! =)

one minute its going crazy, having a mind of its own, the nexxt minute its alright again!

when it went crazy, it was typing on its own, my backspace n scrollbar couldn't work, my touchpad was totally non functional n it was beeped non stop until i opened up a webpage. hmm n when i opened i photo, it made my photos keep popping up -.-" how neurotic is that!!

when u are overseas for 4 mths at a go, living in a room that is not really your room, having to think about what to eat each day, having to do ur laundry, having to learn how to be happy alone, having to study-by study i mean study hard coz just passing is not enough, because my sch fees are 40,000 a yr, there is no way that just passing will suffice. and when u have to constantly tell urself to be brave and be strong n slowly count down the months till u go home, while telling ur mum that you're happy n u're fine coz u dun want her to worry.

when u deal with alll that, when u finally get to go home, you would not want to just unpack ur luggage for a few days, n start packing to go on a holiday again, when u're living out of ur suitcase, or rather, living with everything u brought from ur suitcase. if the main reason for gg on a holiday is to spend time with family, its really not v valid, coz we can spend time w family in singapore wat.. its just a matter of whether everyone bothers to make an effort or not. when we r holidaying, we dont rly interact that much anyway also! its jus taking family photos at different places. we can always go for a family picnic at botanic gardens or go play badminton on some wkend, or go watch a movie, climb bukit timah hill, ANYTHING! make popiah tgt, or sushi or stuff like that, its better wat.. if we actually really talk to each other..anytime, anyday is fine with me, coz i'm not the one who is always blowing off the family outing thing..im always there..jus that everyones too busy.

so dun blame me for not wanting to go overseas for holiday..if the purpose for holiday is for fun n relaxation then yes, thats more like it.. provided we rly have fun n we rly relax.. and dun blame me, at least not today, not tonight.

had a rly relaxing n peaceful sunday morning..finally tried doing what i always said i would do one day..

got up bright n early at 8+am n went to Victoriaa Park to chill..v gd weather today!! sunny n cool =) got a coffee, chose a nice spot under a tree in front of the pond n read some Murakami, with Bella's Lullaby playing on my ipod.. n just enjoy the day and watch the ducks n birds.. n then i decided to draw a picture! wahaha though my art isnt goood, its goood effort! ya! i felt so... calm n refreshed or something, i cant find the right words to it yet.. but im gonna make sure i do this more often in future!

walked around braodway abit n aft that accompanied yh to chinatown to buy some stuff...helped to carry some groceries n took a walk back home.. that was how i spent my lazy sunday from 8+am to 4pm =D gonna have to study for tmr's dissection prac before bones start at 8.30pm

talking about things to do, i remembered that i bought a stack of these b4 i flew off n made some of my dear friends fill it in! LOL i filled in for them too..it seemed quite fun then..wahaha! i should take them out n have a look at what my dear friends saiid they'll do with me hor! more often than not, we will talk/DREAM about doing this n that together, of how fun it would be.. but when im back home, everyone is rly just too busy to do any of those things, carrry out our plans for real or even just to meet up.. wahaha not that im being bitter.. i understand how its always so busy in singapore.. even during holidays, everyone is always busy somehow, OR the weather just makes it difficult to make things happen and it saps away your energy like that *SNAP*! n it just makes things difficult..BUT!!! its still just a matter of priority right? if its important enough to me, i'd go all out to make it happen, if it means ponning sch for 1 day or whatsoever..but thats just me..

i hate being sick, esp when im overseas. makes be tired, eaily-annoyed, moody, quiet, emo, whatsoever. now i know having a blocked nose rly sucks! it gets hard to breathe, ur sinuses get clogged, ur head aches dully. clarinase seems to be working a bit, but doesnt seem v effective =(

took a nap this afternoon aft gg out to buy groceries w the girls.. hopefully ill b gd enough to go to the gym w them tmr morning! =) supposed to be working on my assignment now..but not very productive

don't know why, i do miss home n my family n friends and all, but i just dont feel like talking to my mum online. i know she wants to talk to me but i rly do get quite irritated sometimes, n i have no idea why! n i feel very guilty for feeling that way and i don't want to hurt her feelings too. i can't explain it.

i think last sem was better than this sem at the moment. last sem we were all happier n more relaxed, or stressed out together. wahaha this sem the stress is not the actively-stressing kind of stress.. its like.. passive n silent stress LOL m i making any sense at all? or mayb the right set of words is consciously stressed n unconsciously stressed.. yea.. n its only the 1st month.. haha.. 3 more months to go ah!

it really is quite odd how we never rly notice the plants around us.. there are all those big colourful flowers that will catch our attention or some big n weird looking tree or fern that we will rmb but we never notice the small weeds and grasses growing amongst their more outstanding neighbours.. well! today we looked at plants in a different way and hmmm!! i think i have a new appreciation for plants now!!

first there was agronomy prac.. where we had to look under the microscope, draw flowers, label the parts.. seemed v familiar, think we did this in sec sch or jc? haha but not as proficiently for sure.. under the microscope, the little parts of the florets, the anthers n stigmas n all, they were really fascinatingly beautiful! we had to slowly open up the spikelets to get to the florets and then open up the florets to see the insides.. i was surprised cuz the florets were pretty flat!! had no idea that the 2 layers could be separated..n that there could be stuff in it!

such a relaxing n enjoyable prac for a change.. the demonstraters were really helpful! LOL one of them was called FLORA..how apt right! me n my friends were quite amazed w the flowers..n we were the last to leave u noe! wahaha! inquisitive and enthusiastic students for a change..others finished earlier n left. it isn't graded so yea, you could jus leave early if u wanted to.. many vet students (including us) felt rather incredulous that we had to study agronomy (yea, most of us do not like plants) as part of our course n thought it was a waste of time initially. now i changed my mind! looking fwd to the next agro prac =D

Gen brought us around sch during lunch time to pluck some plants for our plant press assignment.. quite cool.. coz there were some kinda small n cute lil things that i have never noticed around the sch b4! and she knew all their names n where to find them LOL so smart! next yr i shall do that if i help my yr 1 friends..HAHA and i found this v cute plant/weed that i liked v v much n even though it cant be used in our assignment and i dont know its name, but i decided to pick it n make a plant press of it too! i'll take a picture n post it when my plant press is done.. it has heart-shaped leaves!! looks like a clover though im nt sure if it is.. but rly looks like it!

we dissected the brain today! took us the whole 2 hrs jus to get the brain out of the head n skull.. wahaha n it isn't bloody n squishy n disgusting at all. quite solid n small n cute!

got such a shock! when i received abby's sms in the midst of watching bones with the family..gosh! i only realised i was flying off 3 hours b4 my flight! n u noe u hav to check in lyk 2 hrs b4..

thank goodness i started packing n was more or less done alrdy so last min chuck all my other stuff in, still managed to reach the airport on time..flustered

was supposed to have dinner w family + some close friends tonight.. but yes, im in sydney alrdy.. so hav to cancel =( i was rly looking fwd to that dinner la! haha but can only blame myself for being such a blurpok la..

we should all make random acts of kindness to random people whenever we can =D

it just warms the heart, when u do something nice and ppl appreciate it, they're happy, u're happy! its like a happiness tree..it branches and reaches out, getting passed on cumulatively XD

i reckon if everyone did something nice for ppl around them everyday, the world would b a much happier and loving place

it doesn't have to be anything elaborate, write a note to a friend to say they've been missed, smile more, buy someone a coffee, say your thank yous, give up ur seat on the bus/train, anything!

n hence, that is why i love snail mail, i love it when friends call-just to talk, i love giving little gifts every now n then- if i see sth i think someone would like, id buy it for them lols.. coz there rly isn't a need for an occasion for gifts.. don't have to wait for birthdays to give ppl presents.. coz they'd kind of expect it anyway.. haha they'll b happy of course, but if u get a present on ur non-birthday, just out of the blue, won't u be even happier? LOL thats just my opinion though

if we all show our love a bit more everyday, we wouldn't need to wait for V-day/mother's/father's day to celebrate/express our love for our parents/loved ones. it becomes meaningless if gifts are exchanged just because n we won't have to wait for a special day to be especially nice. coz ppl get too caught up in the occasion that sometimes they forget that gifts do NOT equate to love..and do not compensate for a lack of love on the other 364 days of the yr.. its usually the little everyday things in life that really count..

so yes, do sth nice for someone whenever u can n you'll ultimately b happier!

wasted week 1 being sick

week 2 was spent at mount pleasant

week 3 was supposed to be at mount pleasant too but have been way toooo tired for some unknown reason.. and been coughing away.. LOL everyday id wake up at almost noon!! its like im concussed or sth, totally unable to wake up any earlier than that.. im hoping this does NOT continue when i go back to sydney

met up w a couple of friends over the wk, though everyones busy, its nice that we all make an effort to meet =D

went to bedok reservoir to play the forest adventure thingy last wk i think, w my family n cousins, aunty n uncle.. it turned out to b quite fun! its a treetop obstacle course kinda thing w 4 long long zip lines/flying fox!

wk 3 is coming to an end..its a love-hate thing i concluded.. when im here i'll miss sydney, when im in sydney, i'll miss singapore.. its always like that.. right now, i kinda miss school too! thinking back upon the last sem, it was rly an awesome semester, though i rmb it being quite intimidating at first..but in the end, it all turned out good!

went for trng today which was more of a for-fun thing for me than training and meeting up w more friends in the next few days! went out jogging n got caught in the rain but continued jogging all the same.. n hoho! look what i got myself into..

been sick since tuesday.. headache, fever, almost all the h1n1 symptoms.. e doc wasnt sure if it is h1n1 or just a normal flu coz i got caught in the rain.. but he dispensed tamiflu la..so yes.. i spent the last few days heavily drugged with 7 pills n cough syrup 3 times a day ...

geez.. when i said i didn't wanna come back, i shouldn't have come back.. idk y but i think sydney's my happy place! im always happy all day long when im there, i wake up early n i feel happy n fulfilled.. im quarantined now so im bored but even if im not quarantined, i dun feel as happy! theres nothing much to do here..

hais. y is everyone always busy? i wanna go back to sydney.. i mean i do love my family n all n they've rly been v understanding n have been taking care of me while im sick these few days..it rly means a lot to me.. i cant imagine getting this sick all on my own!

oopsies.. MIA for almost 3 weeks! busy studying for exams and celebrating after exams! hehe! cut things short, studying for the end of sem exam was the most stressful period of studying i ever went thru.. nv studied so hard b4! BUT i rly m thankful for having such gd frens here .. we all studied tgt in the meeting room everyday =D i'll bet it made studying not SO bad when u noe everyone's gg thru e same thing n we all work hard tgt..rly 同甘共苦

we had so much fun after exams!! steamboat!! we bought too much food so we had to have TWO steamboats! wahaha but it was all good! i managed to meet up w pinxiu too!! havent seen her in so long n wont see her till end of the yr! showed her around usyd campus hehe! i rly felt quite happy n lucky that im studying here.. coz our campus rly is v nice!! today was last day of school.. for this sem.. nows the start of study break! omg.. 10 days to exams? HAHA i can frankly n honestly say i have started studying BUT nothing went into my head so i have tons n heaps to get into my brain in 10 days..eeks!

cow prac was fun !! photos on fb LOL.. but i feel more confident dealing w cattle now.. HAHAHA after wrestling with them, getting slober on my hands n shit on my face n hair =( wahahaa..all part of the FUN! XD cattle was my favourite prac out of all the farm pracs we had so far this sem also coz we got to do more things..

from 1st prac, dealing w calves n milking dairy cows.. n this prac, learnt more abt the cow crushes, putting on halters, restraining(headlock!), had to check the eyes, pull out the tongue to check teeth n put in mouth gags, stomach tubing n collecting rumen samples(glup glup), tried drawing blood too..n yea, we herded cattle..LOL! the whole herd was in a pen with "MUD" n when they ran, "MUD" splattered everywhere.... wahaha lucky i didnt open my mouth at the wrong time! =D

ohmyyy its raining outside now n im in a chocoholic mood hehe =D munching on choc mint cookies as i try my best to multi task with my laptop, msn/fb-ing .. eating.. n notes on nervous system splayed out on my table top..

not a v productive day today! but its alright, good to cut myself some slack at times..the law library had been my favourite place for mugging the last 2 wks.. but its not anymore... this wk suddenly everyone gg to law lib! its been v packed crowded n NOISY n not condusive for studying! sigh. haha mus find a new place to study alrdy..

CATTLE PRAC!!

argh i keep getting burnt out! too tired.. BUT after having a gd nights slp after another week of fatigue/feeling sick to the head, i feel more recharged now.. n today jus made me v happy! coz it was real fun working w the cattle!

luckily we got to work with the youngest, smallest, cutest group of calfs in the morning.. ours were only 1-2 wks old!! haha still young n innocent.. the other groups got to work with slightly older calfs which were more afraid of humans n not so friendly anymore.. awww!! theyre REALLLY CUTE!! esp the way the hop around HHAHA.. not rly hop.. but they jump around cutely(??) haha

afternoon we did some milking.. which was not rly milking la.. coz we just had to attach the "milk-suckers"(sry i duno the technical term for it) to the cows teats.. its just equipment haha but omg it was scary!! coz the cows were kinda one lvl above us n they're butts were on top of us.. n they DO shit n piss... have to b constantly aware of them n SIAM! if they pee or shit coz u WILL get covered in it if u dont move away .. HAHAHA

oops its been a while since i updated.. getting lazy to update blog + getting busy with school work (the amt of work never ends)

anyways today was piggy prac at camden! zomg pigs REALLY smell bad... the pig smell is still lingering on my hands even though i washed them countless times..

haha but it was quite fun/interesting!! we did so many things today.. kind of.. n rly mucked around w the pigs.. got so so so dirty n shitty.. eww.. LOL

had to chase them n snare them, then take their temperature, give injections, take their weight, measure some p2 value thingy by digital ultrasound, then went to see the breeding unit, where they showed us pig breeding, some sows feeding the piglets.. got to carry piglets.. n assessed body condition scores for some sows as well.. haha quite a lot alrdy huh! yea! it was a fun day! but was not a v gd day for me coz i wasn't feeling well.. LOL the smell of pig shit certainly did not help make me feel any better but yea.. luckily aft taking med once i got home, was much better.. =D

oh yes, did i mention? i didnt even know pigs could be SO HUGE!! i was a bit stunned hahaha when i saw the sows n boars at the breeding unit.. they're like abt 300+ kg each leh! ZSD!!

hmm i think one of my classmates has a photo of my piglet n i! will upload when i get it ..hehe! but yea, dun worry! they dun have swine flu! LOL heres a pic val sent me which i think is v cute!!

us in our overalls at camden- horsey farm prac 1

was a great day at the "farm".. had to wake up SO early though! hahaha luckily got a nice long nap on the 1.5hr bus ride! yea.. it was not as tough as i imagined n was rather enjoyable today.. we got to learn how to catch a horse, brush it, lead it out for walk, trot, learned a bit more about horse gaits, putting on saddle, bandaging horse legs, estimating weight, height, etc.

the horses were all so well behaved! LOL n they don't stink.. thank goodness we had horses first, not cattle.. wahaha the cattle ppl were saying the cows kick! n ppl fall down trying to chase/flip the cow 0.o !! scaryy hahaha n they smell like cow after too!

ah well.. more photos when i get them frm abby! hehe! time now to studyy for dissection prac or cell bio test on friday.. ill be freeeee aft friday noon!! XD

LOL HAVE given up on cooking my dinners.. unless theyre instant! hahaha for now at least..

anyway, wkends always pass by SO quickly!! friday as usual training + slpover.. HAHAHA omg.. we wanted to bake choc fondants.. BUT we FAILED SO BADLY! what we got was more like a chocolate flood..seriously CMI.. LOL duno whether to laugh or cry.. but i laughed XD

supposed to use those disposable aluminium cups.. BUT we couldnt find any so we made do w muffin trays... AND each slot fr the muffin was TOO BIG for making fondants.. AND aft baking, we could nt get the fondant out w/o breaking it.. HAHAHA plus, i think the top(top of the fondant, which is the bottom on the tin) was not baked fully yet.. so it was still molten chocolate.. WAHAHA.. show u our failed attempt.. so funny!!

awww.. i was secretly v touched cuz M's mum asked me to stay for dinner but i couldnt cuz had to get back home early.. so she decided to fry noodles fr me to take home fr dinner... n it looks/tastes like the same kind my mum used to make.. the japanese noodles! just that my mum would use the thicker udon noodles + capsicum too! yupp.. anyway, now i have SO MUCH noodles in my fridge! would b my dinner for the next few days.. awesome awesome.. hahaha since im lazy to cook anything nowadays.. n my cooking SUCKS! yea! it was rly nice of her!! XD

on a happier note.. today was slack at sch.. n TMR thers NO SCHOOL! =D must treasure one of our last few no-school/slack-days... wk 8 onwards is shit hiong! but nvm.. i think it will pass v v quickly... like now.. its mid sem alrdy! like can u believe it? can i believe it? LOL im half way thru 1st sem! thats fast!

im over happy again! LOL gg chinatown tmr w A for groceries + bfast/lunch/brunch(?)... n we're gonna b nerdy n geeky n STUDY our whole afternoon away(i think/hope) .. cell bio exam nxt wk... n im still contemplating whether to go jogging tmr or not...THEN.... we're planning on getting take out- PIZZA! frm bambino torino.. coz we're both sick of/cant be bothered to do our own cooking anymore wahaha..

it shall b a great week ahead... will worry abt next wk when next wk comes... enjoy this week while i can! XD

next wk is gonna b crazy.. as in .. weather.. now the min temp is only 16 deg but next wk onwards the min temp sudd drop to like 11 deg?? CHILL !! LOL

basically it was the whole of our easter break XD

Easter Show was amazing.. many animals! but the best part was feeling like a kid all over again.. HAHAHA rly damn happy lo! took picx w bananas in pyjamas somemore!

other than that, easter break consisted mostly of sleepover + slacking time away + playing cards + watching vcds + some studying in strathfield w M n D.. LOL! my 2nd home ah! but they rly remind me of my wushu friends/4B guys back in singapore somehow.. so its been awesome hanging out w them.. like my brothers or sth.. lols!

AND.. another HIGHLIGHT was SHOPPING day at DFO with my girls - A n E !! finally got my winter coat..n many many other things too! LOL didnt blow my $300 budget okie!! many clothes.. a pretty cap(i love this).. 2 bags..winter coat.. that about sums up everything! quite good buys i reckoned! hehe! certainly made my day!! XD

oh well.. n yea.. todays back to school already.. first thing this morning was our VAP mid-sem exam.. ZOMG.. with some post-exam-trauma which im stilll suffering from.. LOL so scary okie!! hahaha tho its just like MID-SEM.. but still! zzz.. i duno how to comment on it la! many things i studied i forgot.. like.. blank out .. argh! wahaha feeling weak n numb n tired now.. from alll that excitement/nerves/anxiety from just now.. hope they give me marks for erm effort n encouragement! wahaha

wushu training has been good by the way.. we go to the gymnastic place one a week now.. n can pretty much train whatever i want there.. LOL have been TRYING (in vain) to jump n all again like last time but i still feel like im past my prime n a bit handicapped! what with such a useless ankle/heel as mine.. heh! jian is fun though!! =D

LOL next lesson is at 12.. i so totally feel like ponning the rest of school today.. but duno what to do also.. the weather here is starting to get rly chilly!- for me at least.. n going out is such a chore now.. brave the cold winds! LOL my cold is abt 17-21 degrees by the way (HAHAHA!)

skyped w family + relatives a few nights ago when they celebrated my mums n my aunts bday.. which was quite heartwarming! their cake was cool! sam got it from some shop.. where they'll let u decorate n design ur own cake! they provide u with a plain one w basic cream n u get to draw or add on anything u want! XD i wanna try!!

well,today had the day off from school!!

awesome brunch w abby at hoocie mamas - my favourite... TOASTED MUESLI W YOGHURT N POACHED PEACHES =D

n we planned our easter show plans! im rly excited abt the easter show!!

n then went out to meet mitchell n derek for some wushu demonstration for this dance group.. n WHEEEEE!! M n i got $50 each for doing the demo! n aft dinner + parking the car... i still have $20 left!! first time i "earn" any money here!!

we had dinner at this malaysian food place in chinatown.. which was REALLY expensive for that sort of food! hahaha but it always had a lLOOONNG queue so we thought it was good! but in fact.. it was v ordinary.. AIYO! n the rojak is super CMI!! i duno what kind of rojak is that!! doesnt taste like rojak AT ALL ah! i was quite disappointed.. LOL but nvm!! i had a great day =D

hmm n yea.. i heard about the poison rojak in singapore.. scary!!! but still!! if i missed any one food from singapore, Rojak + lots lots lots of chilli is ONE of them! hahaha n my ah mah's egg curry n jackfruit curry too!! but i m at the same time enjoying food over here as well! erm, food over here excludes my own cooking.. i enjoy my own cooking only for the fact that i MADE it myself LOL not for the taste.. hahaha

then D & M came over to my tiny hole of a "house" jus to chill out coz hmm we had nothing else better to do n were quite bored.. hahaha watched some videos frm my laptop n photos...n watched boring shows on TV.. omg! im so feeling in the holiday mood alrdy!! i cant believe i have school tmr!! LOL but tmr will b the last day of sch b4 easter break!! WHAHAHA!!! YAY!!! anyway, thats all for now! im still high on air!! gotta go bathe now! =D

oh myyyy ive been super energised lyk a bunny high on sugar!!

the last few days have been so insanely happy n energetic! i cant slp at night so i end up slping real late.. n i get up the next morning on my own accord lyk super early! 4 hrs of slp only.. AND still not tired!!

LOL but im just so happy for no reason at all! i guess tats good! haha better than feeling emo!

anw, sch was supposedly from 11-5 today but i pon at 3pm to go meet my wushu friend... i was gonna go for trng w them tonight at this gymnastic place that the coach booked for a few of them... to train all the jumps n stuff.. guess what! it was at the sydney olympic park/village place leh! so cool! yea.. n the wushu guys were v nice.. i got a lift to training n back all the way home! XD

training was good! pretty much can do whatever i want, n it felt like wuzhong! LOL i mean not that i miss wz.. but yea it felt like a proper training place.. a familiar setting.. more training atmosphere! heh! ended off at 10plus.. n he had to send 2 of the guys home.. then the 3 of us went for jap dinner (yea- dinner! i was insanely hungry by then) at chinatown n i got home at midnight

zomg i went to many places today! walked around the city w derek from 3-6plus pm... then took a train to strathfield to meet mitchell who gave us a lift to the training place... then to chinatown for dinner n back home.. what a day! LOL n yea, still bright n happy as ever!! =D

it has been a very fast week! without really noticing, its already thursday! school aint that bad as i imagined.. it makes time pass quicker..though its probably easier coz i fall asleep during boring lectures..

its a rainy week so far.. haven't had the chance to go jogging! hopefully tomorrow will be good? crossing my fingers for luck! but i must say, it felt good to just relax a bit at home.. chilling at home, listening to the rain, turn on the radio, open the window, feel the cool air..relaxes me totally..assignments are progressing well.. im not going to leave things to the very last minute! which reminds me... ive gotta go to the lib to get my book for an assignment tmr! =D n hopefully my easter break will b chill as a pill

sigh! the sydney NSW wushu comp got postponed to 28 june so i wont be able to take part.. .coz im also flying back home to singapore on that date! haha NO WAY m i gonna change my flight just to compete... i can foresee myself bouncing with excitement on the plane back home... wahaha! but im glad coz abby will be on the same flight as me! =D gosh! thats still 3 more months away!

the royal easter show in sydney looks like great fun! we got free tickets if im not wrong.. hmm i need to go shopping for warmer clothes soon! the weather is starting to get chilly.. shucks.. i don't like the cold..

tmr theres ghost whisperer on tv at night! my de-stress programme... LOL theres spongebob on tv every morning at 7.30am too leh! hahaha and Mr Men/Little Miss cartoons at 7am! kewt stuff! i always dun feel like sleeping at night..

finally gotten my millers anatomy textbook today from amazon.. geez! its HEAVY!! if i every want dumbells to train my arms, i can just use my millers LOL

anyway, we had to take our Q fever vaccination on tuesday.. i had to get Q-fever AND tetanus vaccinations... both on the same arm... oh man! Q fever vax is quite horrid! made me drowsy, headache n mild fever(i think!) the next day.. n the injection site now is red n swollen! Sore arm too!

okie theres my fat arm with the 2 horrible sores from Q fever n Tetanus vax =( scary right!!

we also had our very first anatomy prac class this week! we didnt have to dissect anything yet, but we had to observe n identify the various muscles in dissected specimens displayed for us.. there were SOO many!! n it was v v confusing n mind warping.. haha coz i think we are supposed to self-learn the names/location of al the muscles (MILLERS) bef the prac or sth.. but thats also quite impossible.. n daunting! haha.. but i t didnt turn out as scary as i thought! the specimens were all dissected so nicely! n there wasnt too much of a bad smell.. only 1 or 2 specimens smelt a BIT.. i shall put up one pic to show u a piece of our prac class =D

the muscle names r terribly hard to rmb! LOL they all sound the same i tell u!

anyway, the dogs they use are all injured/retired greyhound racing dogs that have been put to slp.. so yea.. i guess that although they died without a good reason (coz i think its downright mean n unnecessary to put down a racing animal just coz it cant race well/is old..even worse.. if injured--TREAT! not put down!) but yea, since cant stop them from putting down at least, they will help us become better vets =D must thank the greyhounds. but i really pity them =( poor things!

today was a good day(finally) after the shitty week.. we went to taronga zoo! had to take a ferry there from circular quay.. the zoo is pretty awesome! many times better than singapore's i think.. the enclosures here are large n spacious and clean, the animals look really much happier here than in the zoos in singapore. they are able to demonstrate their normal behaviours and are active, not like in singapore where the animals are always bored, pacing or sleeping. the buildings in the zoo are nice too! =D

they also have a great variety of animals.. the aussie animals are very unique! the bilbies, platapus, wombats, etc.

WORST DAY EVER

first, i wanted to wake up this early morning to go for a run...but i overslept and was too tired.. =( the sun was too hot when i got up so i didnt go..

then went out w elisa for lunch which was good.. n we were walking around window shoppping.. n everything was FINE until we went into supre.. when we were just about to leave, elisa noticed my bag was open.. n i was lyk AH?! why is it open?? then i took a look n holy schmoly.. my wallet was GONE!! ARGH... b4 we entered the store, my bag was nicely zipped n all.. sigh! i didnt even feel anyone taking my wallet!! NO MORE BACKPACKS FOR ME FROM NOW ON! =(

i paniced coz ALL my important cards were in there!! Credit card, my Room key/U-card, my Student card, my laundry card, GYM card, Access card, travel insurance card, OSHC worldcare student medical insurance card, veg soc card, $$.. ALL GONE!! JUST LIKE THAT!

we went to make a police report.. cancelled my credit card n decided to head back to SUV before the reception closed.. we were walking to the bus stop.. n 2 buses were there! by the time we got to the bus stop, the door of the bus just closed n i waved to the driver but he didnt see!! i was just standing RIGHT in FRONT of the door of the bus... TWO buses... n they just drove off right in front of me!! OMG! even the buses refuse to cooperate..

but i managed to get a temporary card from SUV so i can access my room.. gotta get a replacement on monday when the person in charge is working.. my credit card too... has to wait till monday when the main office/branch is open.. n ALL the other admin stuff i have to do.. replacing ALL the cards.. such such such a hassle

n yea, i texted my mum to tell her abt it..she tried to call me on my mobile n guess what... my mobile phone's SPOILT too!! i can't answer any calls nor make any calls!! Can't hear a thing! luckily still can SMS.. but omg! everything is going against me today..

then after i got home n was done calming myself down n talking to my mum about it, emailing the insurance ppl coz i didnt know what else to do, making a few calls, etc, i had to go out to buy dinner AND bus ticket to use tmr morning when i go for wushu.. i was just about to get up n leave my room when it started to rain heavily.. i was SPEECHLESS... the whole afternoon was SO HOT!! n the sky turned grey n gloomy in 15 min, RAINED just as i was gona go out!!

argh! now i have to get a new wallet! n a new bag! no more backpack for me! =( all my bags r backpacks/slingbags.. i realised- NOT SAFE. i need a gym bag then i will kiap under my arm tight tight, NOBODY GONA BE ABLE TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM ME AGAIN! =D

now its raining heavily again outside... what a day............. it had better be my MOST UNLUCKY DAY for the 5 yrs im here...

school is getting busy!! but im glad we still have Friday off this week!! was staying up til abt 2AM last night to finish some cell bio assignment -.-"

anyway, this morn went for a short run with nanako! my gd running partner XD

my alarm didnt ring so i overslept! good thing i got woken up my the sms message tone! phew! if not she would have been waiting till god knows when!

then went to watch "he's just not that into you" with abby n nicholas! its quite worth it leh! coz abby got some movie vouchers (print from the website) so its only $8 ! mayb even cheaper than singapore HAHA! its valid till 25th march so mayb next wk we can go watch another movie!! confessions of a shopaholic maybe? hmmm im waiting for Angels n Demons to start showing... in may.. will surely go watch that one!!

the movie was so funny! n quite true too hahaha now we know whats gg on in guy's minds hur! on another note, OMG! theres this very very very irritating n annoying guy from wushu.. im so appalled! haha ytd on msn he was annoying me lots.. n i was mostly ignoring him but he just kept on typing n typing n typing!! ask many stupid qns..tried to ask me out..n after a while of me ignoring him, he started to "advertise" himself!! like saying, he's a nice guy, honest, caring, bla bla bla etc. OMFG la... hahahaha hilarious n leaving me speechless.. hahahaha i decided to block him XD give me some peace!!

meeting up w elisa for lunch tmr coz i havent seen her this entire week yet! haha n then on sunday meeting up with leonard n matt tgt w abby n nick to go to taronga zoo!! =D thats the one thing to lok fwd to i guess! right now... i think ive got to study =( sigh n finish up my tutorials... etc..
